Aluminium sulphate, normally recognized as alum is a solid crystalline powder that is dissolvable in water. It includes over 17% alumina (Al2O3) and is produced from sulphuric acid and aluminium trihydrate. Aluminium sulphate is also obtained as an 18-hydrate Al2(SO4)3.18H2O. Both forms are soluble in water, non-combustible, and nontoxic.
What are the Properties of Aluminium Sulphate?
Production and Quality Control
HTMC Group works in strong cooperation with reputed brands to source its Raw Materials for the best quality Aluminium Sulphate Production. We closely monitor our manufacturing facilities for providing assurance of topmost quality to our clients. We also keep a stringent check on our heavy metal concentrations and on our internationally accredited inhouse labs.
Industrial Application of Aluminium sulphate
Water & Effluent Treatment:
HTMC-Manufactured Aluminium sulphate is used for purification of drinking water and wastewater treatment. It settles impurities by making suspended impurities to coagulate into larger particles and then settle to the bottom of the container.
HTMC-Produced aluminium sulphate is widely used for colour fixing. It is also used as mordant in Naphthol based dyes for printing and dyeing of cotton fabric.
Used in the manufacturing of mild astringent and antiseptics for skin treatment, HTMC follows and adheres to all norms for the production of IP/BP/USP Grade of aluminium Sulphate
HTMC works closely to manufacture Aluminium Sulphate used as a filling and binding agent in the manufacturing of bar soaps.
HTMC-Produced Alum helps in sizing of paper at neutral and maintaining alkaline pH, thus improving paper quality (reducing spots and holes and improving sheet formation and strength) and sizing efficiency.
In the construction industry, HTMC-Manufactured aluminium sulphate is used as a waterproofing agent and as an accelerator in concrete. Another use is as foaming agent in fire- fighting foam.
Aluminium sulphate, produced by HTMC is used as deodorant, an astringent, or as a styptic for superficial shaving wounds.
It is used in the human food industry as a firming agent, where it takes E520, and in animal feed as a bactericide. HTMC actively works under FSSAI Guidelines to cater to the food industry.
